Here's a pic of our sweetie, Redgie, cuddling with our kitty, Miles. He's the best dog ever! Anyways, he ended up having two seizures last night each lasting about 5 min. They were sooo scary! I just held him and pet him till they passed. It was so sad because you could just tell by the look in his eyes that he was absolutely terrified also. So we took him down to the emergency vet, and of course he didn't have any more and seemed totally fine. They took a blood panel and gave him a seditive (vallum) to stop the cycle of seizures for the night.

They called this morning with the blood results and for the most part everything was normal. He did have slightly elevated pancreatic enzymes, though. So they suggested a bland diet of cooked ground lean beef and rice for the next two weeks.

I feel that the seizures were caused by some kind of poison (and thus also elevating his pancreatic enzymes). He's had a few other seizures in the past, which we felt we had narrowed to being caused by ant poison. Another vet, Dr. Sharon Cargo, agreed. She suggested giving him Choline to counter any effects of pesticides.

He is feeling well so far today, and has been acting back to his old self. I don't know if it's silly to ask for prayer for an animal, but please pray for Redgie to be healed. He really is a very important part of our family and we love him sooo much!
